As per the leak we reported a few weeks back, it turns out that the SE is indeed a refurbished 2019 Mavic Mini, but now sporting the Mini 2‘s shell and also includes a controller as part of its packaging. To quickly recap, the new drone comes with a primary camera that is mounted on a 3-axis gimbal mount, which is capable of capturing images at 12MP and videos at up to 2.7K resolution. Much like the original, the DJI Mini SE weighs in at only 249g.
The DJI Mini SE is capable of achieving up to 30 minutes of flight time, and has a maximum range of 4km via HD low-latency video transmission. Onboard features include Gesture Control, Obstacle Avoidance via a downward vision-sensing system, Smart Return Home, and GPS-based navigation. Included together with the drone is a screwdriver, spare control sticks, propellers and screws, gimbal/camera cover, a variety of cables and, as mentioned earlier, a remote controller. According to DJI’s listing on Shopee, this standard bundle of the DJI Mini SE is priced at RM1,349.
Meanwhile, the Fly More combo is also available at RM1,829. This package comes with the same accessories mentioned above, along with a carrying bag, two-way charging hub, two additional batteries, as well as extra propellers and screws. DJI is also offering these two bundles with other additional combos, all of which are priced differently.
As mentioned in our previous article, the DJI Mini SE is worth considering if you don’t mind skipping the longer range and better imaging of the Mini 2. Furthermore, its standard combo is significantly cheaper than the original Mavic Mini (and the Mini 2, of course) with all things considered, so you have that going as well.
