This new approach will allow both customers and riders to opt for contactless delivery which limits any physical interaction for meal orders. Choosing this method will enable customers to conduct payment online, and have riders maintain a distance of 1 meter to drop off their deliveries once they’ve arrived at the customer’s location.
“We value the safety of everyone in our community, and have introduced new measures to ensure you feel secure while using our service. Our rider hubs provide hand sanitizer and masks free of charge to all our riders, who are instructed to wash their hands every two hours and after each time they handle a delivery,” said Foodpanda Malaysia managing director Sayantan Das. The company’s contactless delivery approach is in response to the COVID-19 outbreak concerns, which resulted in the adoption of the RMO issued by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin on 16 March 2020. Foodpanda also encourages its users to switch to online payment methods in order to reduce human interactions to a minimum during this period. (Source: Foodpanda press release.)
