LetsGoDigital has found a patent granted to Google depicting designs of a watch, with the camera sitting in the middle. That said, the patent doesn’t say that the camera is below the display. There’s also not much other information to go on regarding the watch.
This isn’t the first patent that Google filed for wearables. A previous patent described a quick release mechanism for easy band switching. This was also previously thought to be a smartwatch that would launch with the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL phones, but that never happened. In the end, it’s important to remember that patents don’t always end up as products on shelves. This is especially the case with the Google Pixel Watch, which has spent a lot of time in the rumour mill already. (Source: USPTO via LetsGoDigital)
