Equipped with a 6-inch Full HD+ display, the new model is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. It can be obtained in three memory and storage configurations which include 6GB + 64GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 10GB + 256GB. The phone doesn’t support additional memory card though. Being a gaming phone, it is not surprising that the Red Magic Mars comes with certain features that designed to help maximize the gaming experience on the phone. One such feature is a pair of touch-sensitive areas on the side of the phone which act as shoulder buttons just like a typical gamepad.
Red Magic Mars is also equipped with a linear motor that helped the phone deliver force feedback experience to gamers. Nubia has also spent some time on the audio department of the phone by providing a dual amplifier and DTS:X Ultra 7.1 surround sound support. Yes, the RGB strip is still there on Red Magic Mars as well. For the new model, the company has also implemented a slightly different cooling solution. While several elements still remained identical to the original Red Magic gaming phone including the 3-layer graphene, convection cooling through four air vents and metal back cover that is coated with a material that promotes heat dissipation, the solution on Red Magic Mars offers an additional cooper-based vapor chamber. Photography-wise, the Red Magic Mars comes standard with a new 16MP f/1.8 rear camera alongside an 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera. Pre-installed with Nubia’s own Red Magic OS 1.6 on top of the phone Android 9.0 Pie operating system, the phone is powered by a 3800mAh battery which supports fast chargers with ratings of up to 5V 3.2A.
In terms of pricing, the Red Magic Mars with 6GB/64GB configurations goes for CNY 2699 (about RM 1631) while the 8GB/128GB model is listed at CNY 3199 (~RM 1933). On another hand, the 10GB/256GB variant which also features a special camo colorway is priced at CNY 3999 (~RM 2417).
