The brand recently announced that it plans to publish the aforementioned book, titled Ray Tracing Gems, over the coming months. With the express purpose of educating developers at all levels about the technology in detail. To compose the book, NVIDIA reportedly more than 60 experts on the field to contribute their expertise to the book. Additionally, NVIDIA makes it clear that the book isn’t a survey of the field of ray-tracing. Rather, the book will address various techniques in which developers can use in order to maximise their use of ray-tracing.
NVIDIA says that a hardback version of Ray Tracing Gems will be made available sometime in March. Specifically, the GPU maker will be showcasing its book at the Games Developers Conference, and at its own annual GPU Technology Conference (GTC), which is slated to take place from 18 March until 21 March 2019. Alternatively, you’ll also be able to download the book as part of a series of seven PDFs absolutely free of charge, once the book becomes available. On that note, Part one of the seven PDFs is already available online, but you will need to be a member of NVIDIA’s Developer Program to actually download it. (Source: Techspot via NVIDIA)
