Upon turning on the notifications bar, users will then notice the Tap to Shazam toggle describing how the feature will automatically identify certain music while running a third-party app in the background. Tapping on the notifications shade will then display a blinking Shazam icon to notify that the system is currently listening and identifying the audio.
After successfully identifying the audio track, the app will then provide users with information about the track name, artists and also an additional shortcut to See Lyrics and Share the identified track to other supported platforms. Users can choose to disable this feature altogether by directly deactivating it from the device Settings menu and toggle off the Shazam In Other Apps option. As mentioned earlier, the Shazam persistent notifications feature is rolling out on Android 11 devices. Existing users of the Shazam app should also ensure that they have the app updated at all times as the feature is already implemented to older Android 10 devices as well. (Source: 9To5Google)
