According to the salvaged information by the German tech website, the Fossil watches will arrive in 42 or 44 millimeter sizes, along with a standard 1.28-inch OLED 416 x 416 pixel display. What sets it apart from its predecessor is the addition of what appears to be a rotating bezel – a feature that is supported by the new Samsung and Google co-developed Wear OS platform, which is believed to be featured on the Gen 6. All watches under the series are also said to be water resistant to a depth of 50 meters. WinFuture added that under the hood of the Fossil Gen 6 will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100+ chipset, paired together with 8GB of storage. Other features listed include GPS support, Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, and a variety of sensors to track fitness-related activities, heart rate, sleep, sp02 blood oxygen levels and much more. Battery-wise, it is claimed that the new watches will offer up to 24 hours of usage, with fast charging support that enables them to be fully juiced up within an hour’s worth of charging. There’s also an energy-saving mode which enables its battery to last up for several days. The site noted that the new Fossil Gen 6 smartwatches are expected to be available in Germany on 27 September 2021, with a retail price of EUR 299 (~RM 1,480) for the 42mm and EUR 329 (~RM 1,628) for the 44mm version. No information on a potential global debut is known at this time. (Source: WinFuture)
